John Keells Foundation in collaboration with Fonterra conducted a training on best practices on cattle rearing. The training was offered to cattle beneficiaries in Morawewa supported under the John Keells Village Adoption programme as well as other cattle farmers in the area. 23 villagers attended the workshop on 22nd March, which involved lessons on the best methods used to increase productivity and tips on how to develop their livelihood using cattle farming as a form of income generation. The farmers participated in the programme enthusiastically, and were encouraged to use proper rearing techniques.
John Keells Foundation team members were present during the training programme and also attended the Annual General Meetings of both Women’s societies in Track 6 and D8 villages on the 23rd of March to ensure dedicated office bearers were appointed and to set up their targets for the next 6 months.
