John Keells Foundation (JKF) has been supporting the lives and livelihoods of villagers in Mullaitivu District since 2014. In view of the severe water scarcity in the area and its impact on most aspects of development, it was decided to prioritize major tank renovation work in Morawewa DS. Accordingly, surveying and levelling of two large tanks (D7 and D8) in Morawewa DS were commissioned via the Director of Irrigation, Trincomalee. Following completion of the survey of D8 tank, it was decided to initiate rehabilitation of same while considering additional solutions to the issue. Other needs identified were mainly livelihood support and basic school infrastructure and facilities.
