Under the HIV and AIDS Workplace Programme (HAWP), the 19 HIV and AIDS Workplace Committees across the Group are tasked to hold at least one HIV and AIDS Awareness session that incorporates both HIV and AIDS awareness as well as the HIV and AIDS Workplace Policy for staff. The awareness session educate new recruits and other staff members without the exposure to the understanding. Given the adoption of the HIV and AIDS Workplace Policy by all John Keells businesses in Sri Lanka, it becomes important that all staff is made aware of the rights and responsibilities that fall under the Policy.

Accordingly, the Centre Functions HIV and AIDS Workplace Committee organized a HAWP and HIV and AIDS awareness session, coinciding with Valentine’s Day at John Keells Head Office on 14th February 2011. Thirteen participants from the Centre, Leisure Inbound, and Resort Hotels attended the session.
